Treasures

Whenever I go back home to Wellington, my Mum asks me when I am going to take all my stuff back with me. There is a whole huge cupboard full of all my bits and pieces that have all been packed away since I left NZ about six years ago! Poor Mum. So every time I go back, I try to take a few things back to Australia in my hand luggage. This is what I bought back with me on Sunday, I was so relieved that everything made it back in one piece. The coffee set and the Carltonware dishes are all op shop treasures that I have had for about 12 years!

This cool coffee set from Japan

Pretty cup and saucer and Willow plate given to me by my boyfriend's lovely Mum.
The cup and saucer belonged to her Great Grandmother

Lovely little Wellington

This weekend I am back home in Wellington, New Zealand for my Mum's 60th Birthday party on Saturday night. It is absolutely freezing here and I am in my Winter coat from London! Never mind though, even cold, she is a pretty city.

Yay, the finished crochet garland for Juno! That much repetition was nearly too much for my short attention span but I got there in the end :)

Sweetpeas and Peonies

Mmm a big ball of Peonies and Sweetpeas... there is nothing as amazing as a big fat open Peony is there?? Peony season is still a while away here but I thought I might put this pic up anyway x

Blue and Orange

Oh I love blue and orange together! It is one of my fave colour combos... it's not for everyone though, I think it is one of those love or hate things... a little bit like pink and yellow, my second fave :)

Check out what I found recently... yet another footstool and a pretty wooden serving platter. I think the platter looks quite Danish perhaps??
I am pretty excited today, I get to collect the chairs and table I am buying off Alena as she is moving! Five vinyl chairs, three in green and two in purple, and a cute formica table. Now we might be able to give our naff table and chairs back to hard rubbish where we found them.

Crochet Bunting

I gave up on the heart garland after I just could not figure out the pattern! After about five attempts to start a hat, I decided to try and make some crochet bunting for Luke's new niece, Juno. I used this cute tutorial on Carina's craftblog to crochet the triangles. After blocking them to make them more pointy, I will string them together like this! Yay, my first proper crochet project, so much fun. Love any kind of bunting or garland... I would hang them all over the house if I could! I think I might try some fabric ones next.

I miss London...

I am really missing London at the moment, especially when I hear they are having 30 degree days! I love London when she is that hot, she gets even crazier than usual! These pics are taken in London, on my lovely fisheye camera, around Battersea and Shoreditch.
